to the village community and can act as an intermediary
with the government and as representatives of NGOs
in the grassroots.) The batch started from 10th
June 2007 and will be completing their course on
9th December 2007. Even though this exhibition
was not scheduled in the project earlier but after
providing 140 days of training PRAVA thought of
this exhibition with the following objectives: |

provide an opportunity to this batch of RYPs to
enhance their communication skills, raise self
confidence level and make their presence audible
to the people of the area.

assess the level of progress of the
1st batch RYPs and find out points
for further improvement of the programme.

Government Personnel, Banks and Industrial
Houses about the scope and future
availability of skilled hands in
the area.
To
facilitate interest and demand from
wider population to avail the facility. |

by cutting the ribbon. Then he has visited the
stalls and interacted with participants. In his
encouraging deliberation he praised the steps taken
by the RYPs and wished them a new way of living
a self reliant life. He also expressed that it
should reach all adivasi youths of the area. The
PA, ITDA, Nilgiri also added that it should reach
all rural pockets of the Block. Other eminent persons
of the area also appreciated the steps and wished
wider implementation. Parents of RYPs have expressed
their gratitude towards CAPART and
their positive expectations from their wards in
the coming days. The exhibition was conducted by
the RYPs during 5th & 6th November 07 in Bhudarchandi
High School field, Sajanagarh. Both the trades
i.e. Electrician and Tailoring had different stalls
where they exhibited various models and products.
Mostly the exhibits told about their learning in
the RYP Center and their communication skill (explaining
/ query compliance capability) & confidence.
The Major Models included – “Model
House wiring”, “Renewable
Energy-Electricity generation from Cow dung”,
“Electrical Safety
Devices” etc. in electrician trade and
“Dresses for different
stages of life”, “Home

themes on Development. |
